Great food all the time. Just don’t like the 20 minute wait when I get there. Will have to adjust my time to pick up the food but always great food

This was our first time ordering, and we were pleasantly surprised. Our go to Chinese food place had just closed for good and we were worried we wouldn't find a new go to place. Toishan Kitchen has so far proved to be just what we were looking for. Can't wait to do sit in instead of take out.

Living in the Royal Oak area, I received a take out menu in the mail several weeks ago. I kept it. I am always looking for a really good Won Ton Soup, so I ordered two for lunch with boneless S/S Pork and BBQ Pork Chow Mein, to pick up. My order was ready ultra fast, and very enjoyable when I got home (about 14 minutes).
The restaurant looks beautiful and if looking to dine out for Chinese food, would definitely make a reservation.
I would add that, like most Chow Mein now, it is a bit dry. Maybe I'm ordering the wrong one. The Won Tons were pure pork, (very nice), but lacking in flavor. I have made my own Won Tons with ground pork and shrimp, with green onion and sesame oil in them, and are really good. I liked that their broth was true and not too salty. Just me searching "forever" for the perfect Won Ton Soup (that I don't make myself). Still a good "thumbs up" for Toishan.
Today's lunch was a very narrow sample of their menu, and if I was going to order Chinese for my family, I would definitely order more variety.

The best crispy ginger beef in Victoria that I’ve found to date.
